Hussam Gneem's profile

Short Film : Lost Time

"A very short narrative film about the emotions that the years have carried me through, mixed with hope and perhaps solitude. I speak about the loss of time, which may not have been lost but rather a collection of experiences. Ultimately, I created this film to celebrate my 26th birthday in the fall, attempting to explain life's pressures through a gentle artistic lens. It illustrates the multiple characters' confusion within the human body and the demands of each character. And, in the end, I celebrate alone.

I also worked on studying the location, the character's role, and directing the scene alone. This work consumed a month and 10 days of time. You can take a look below to understand what I'm saying
The opening shot of feet entering the frame
A scene showing the actor walking on the crossover bridge
A shot from inside the bag pulling out the tripod
A shot of getting ready to start filming, with the use of a bag as an important element carrying all the equipment needed for the film
A shot showing the storyboard and the process of pre-production stage formation
A scene depicting a broken pen as evidence of life's hardships and how they can shatter the dreams we've written
A snapshot to capture the vision of the present moment
Shot to support the current moment scene and use the MATCH CUT transition
A snapshot to explain a scene
“No time for tomorrow.”
-start now -
Walking and preparing to start
Running symbolizes the beginning and the continuation of the wheel of life
A glimpse of the scene to illustrate how days pass in the blink of an eye. "I can't
Running is another scene expressing walking without concern for what happened, taking a close look to attract attention
A scene of wrapping around the crossover bridge signifies entering a scene of multiple characters within the body
Displaying the characters, each engaged in something specific, while blurring the characters to the left and right, as the one in the middle plays with a thread
Displaying the character as people naturally see them, yet constrained by threads, reflects the challenges they face and their ability to overcome them
A shot that embodies celebration despite the existing difficulties, perhaps days pass without threads
Celebration scene at the crossover bridge
